Biocide

Biocide :

Biocides are used in the offshore oil and gas industry to maximize production by protecting assets through the inhibition of microbial induced biofilm and corrosion. An oil and gas company needs to be very careful while using this chemical. It is used in small amounts to control the growth of bacteria and other harmful organisms in the wellbore.

We have two different grades for Biocide
(1) Amine Base Biocide

Biocide Amine Base Specifications

Amine Base
Physical State The Material shall be in the form of homogeneous, free flowing liquid at 24+/- C, Free From Visible Impurities.
Turbidity of Neat Sample, NTU: 3 (max)
Miscibility of 1% (w/v) Sample in fine filtered injection water Should be Completely miscible
Turbidity of filtered injection water treated with other water injection chemical when mixed with 100 ppm of Bactericide sample, NTU: 1(Max)
Thermal Stability test upto 90+/- 5 C: Should be stable
Aldehyde Group Test (Schiff’s or Tollen’s Test): Negative
Amine Group Test (Nitrous Acid Test): Positive
Performance test on Sulphate Reducing Bacteria (Bactericide Dose 100 mg/l) Incubation period 28 days at 35+/- 1C and at atmospheric pressure). None of the bottles should show blackening till the end of incubation period
Performance test on Aerobic Bacteria (Bactericide Dose 100 mg/l) Incubation period 96 hours at 35+/- 1C and at atmospheric pressure). None of the bottles should show turbidity till the end of the incubation period.
